Zella Johnson Charles

Funeral services for Mrs. Zella Johnson Charles, 86, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Sunday from 10 A.M until time of services. Mrs. Charles passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009, at her sister's residence. She was born December 13, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Jimmy and Pearlie Mayberry Johnson. She was married to the late Andrew Charles, who passed away February 10, 1994. She was a factory worker and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Ernest Johnson, Pete Johnson, and Robert Johnson. Survivors include 2 Sisters: Velma Hix of Gainesboro, TN, and Mary (Hugh) Young of Cookeville, TN; 2 Nieces: Sheila Swearengin and Peggy Johnson; 10 Nephews: Jim Hix, Phil Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Rob Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Michael Johnson, David Johnson, Greg Young, Alan Young, and Ron Young; and 2 Sisters-in-Law: Ann Johnson of Gainesboro, TN, and Ruth Johnson of Michigan.
