Funeral services for Mr. Willie Joe Way, 91, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, December 28, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 - 9 P.M., Wednesday from 12 noon - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Way passed away on Monday, December 25, 2006, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born August 25, 1915, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Hiram & Ollie Fox Way. On July 18, 1936, he was married to Ara Aline Pippin Way, who survives. Mr. Way was a hi - lo operator for a grocery chain. He was a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ, and served as an elder for 28 years at the Sunset Church of Christ in Taylor, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 Brothers: Leo, Hubert, Jessie, Fred, and Ermon C. Way; and 4 Sisters: Ruby Way, Cleo Flatt, Lillie Brown, and Helen Baither. Survivors include his wife: Ara Aline Pippin Way of Cookeville, TN; 2 Sons and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Bobby & Patricia Way of Canton, MI, and Jimmy Dale Way of Westland, MI; 1 Daughter and Son-in-Law: Shirley & Wendell Combs of Hendersonville, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Kenneth James Way, Gina Cavanaugh, Susan Marie Fisher, Brian Allen Way, Ronald Joseph Way, David Wendell Combs, Sharon Annette Melton, and Matthew Joseph Combs; 18 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Sister: Emogene Jakob of Nashville, TN. .
