Willie A. Lane

Funeral services for Mr. Willie A. Lane, 91, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Friday, August 19, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Draper Cemetery in the Wartrace community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon - 9 P. M., and Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Lane passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at the Carthage General Hospital in Carthage, TN. He was born May 12, 1914, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late McKinley Lane and Carrie Bean Lane Pippin. On May 8, 1958, he was married to Gracie Louise Meadows Lane, who passed away on November 26, 2000. Mr. Lane was retired from the Jackson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Free State Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Shirley Ann Davis; 3 Brothers: James Lane, George Lane, and Marion Lane; and 1 Sister: Mattie Lane. Survivors include 1 Son & Daughter-in-Law: Eddie & Jackie Lane of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Shelby & Tom Glenn of Michigan, and Donna & David Etheridge of Whitleyville, TN; 11 Grandchildren: Dennis and Danny Davis; Ray, Debbie, Dale, and Earl Brown; Emily and Josh Lane; Steven Keen, Jr.; and Nathaniel and Natasha Etheridge; and 1 Sister: Marie Shoemake of Gainesboro, TN. 7 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
