Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Mahaney, 73, of Baxter, TN, will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016, at his residence. He was born June 17, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Lester B. Mahaney and Grace Meadows Mahaney. On May 17, 1969, he was married to Linda Green Mahaney, who survives. He was the former Sheriff of Jackson County, serving for 14 years. He was a former probation officer, welder, and body repairman. He was a member of the Whitson's Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: James "Butch" Mahaney; and a Loving Pet: Lady. Survivors include his Wife: Linda Green Mahaney of Baxter, TN; 1 Daughter: Matilda Mahaney of Baxter, TN; 1 Sister: Wanda Wilkerson of Cookeville, TN; 4 Nephews: Jeff (Karen) Wilkerson, Michael (Christy) Mahaney, Jack Wilkerson, and Scott Wilkerson; 2 Uncles: Jack (Sue) Mahaney and Homer Mahaney; 4 Aunts: Mildred Allen, Yvonne Meadows, Virginia Meadows, and Ethel Meadows; 2 Great Nephews; 3 Great Nieces; and Loving Pet: Butterfly.
