Wava Ilene Allen

Funeral services for Mrs. Wava Ilene Allen, 78, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and again on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born October 6, 1941, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Thurman Lee Martin and Avon Cleo Martin. On April 23, 1960, she was married to Bobby D. Allen, who survives. She was a furniture factory worker, and a member of the Morrison Creek Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Ross Dean Allen; 2 Sisters: Marion Nell Hopkins and Bessie Lee Emmott; and 3 Brothers: Roger Dale Martin, Billy Edward Martin, and Thurman Harold Martin. Survivors include her Husband: Bobby D. Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Steve D. (Anita) Allen and Dwayne (Diane) Allen, all of the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County; 1 Daughter: Tina Maynard and Bruce Smallwood of Gainesboro, TN; 9 Grandchildren: Eric (Kecia) Bartholomew, Steve (Kendra) Allen, Jonathan Allen, Blake Allen, Kaleb (Emily) Allen, Nicholas Maynard, Jeremy Jackson, Jordan Allen, Tori Jackson; 4 Great Grandchildren: Ashton Allen, Lily Bartholomew, Luke Bartholomew, and Kaylee Allen; and Brothers: Danny (Jenny) Martin, Wayne Martin, and Jacob Martin, all of Gainesboro, TN. Lakelan Barham and Kaleb Allen will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Pharris Cemetery, or the American Heart Association.
