Wanda Lee Scantland

Wanda Lee Scantland was born October 5, 1958, in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at her residence at the age of 65.

She was the daughter of Corben Lee Newberry and Eva Lee Allen Newberry.  She was a shirt factory worker and housewife.  On October 26, 1973, she married Richard Wayne Scantland. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in October 2023.  Wanda was a member of the Gipson Ave Church of Christ and a resident of the Fairview Community.

Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Maynard.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Scantland of Gainesboro; son, Tommy Wayne Scantland (mothers of his children, Melisa and Feather) of Gainesboro; daughter, Amanda Gail (Paul) Harris of Gainesboro; sister, Geneva Jackson of Gainesboro; grandchildren: Brooklyn Dean, Breckin Scantland, Harley, Faith, Alexis, Rachel Harris, Rebecca Harris and James Harris.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11, 2024, 4pm to 8pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10 am to 2 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 2 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in Richard Scantland Cemetery.
