Wanda L. Long

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda L. Long, 69, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday, February 14, 2016, and from 11 A.M. until the service at 1 P.M. on Monday, February 15. Wanda lived in the Cubb Creek community of Jackson County and passed away on February 12, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 28, 1946, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Cordell Hull Hix and Opal Swezea Hix. On April 27, 1964, she was married to Jack W. Long, Sr., who preceded her in death by seven days. She was retired after a career with the USDA Farm Services Agency (serving in the Sparta and Livingston offices) and Montgomery Electric Co. (in Gainesboro). Mrs. Long was a member of the Wartrace United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Tonya J. Long of San Jose, California; one son, Jack (Sue) Long and grandsons Jackson and John of Lewisburg, Tennessee; one brother, Bobby (Brenda) Hix of Rickman, Tennessee; and special friends Ronnie and Gail Long of Gainesboro, Tennessee. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Brother Jeff Burton will officiate at the services.
