Funeral services for Mr. Wade E. "Gene" Allen, Sr., 78, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, September 9, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, TN at 2:30 P.M. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon - 3 P.M. and from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Allen passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Masters Health Care Center in Algood, TN. He was born January 6, 1928, in Jackson County to the late Sam Allen & Ollie Harris Allen. On May 12, 1947, he was married to Elise Garrison Allen, who survives. They were married for 59 years. Mr. Allen was retired from Dacco. He was a member of the Bloomington Springs Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Great- Granddaughter: Madison Grace Leader; 1 Brother: Brownie Allen; and 1 Sister: Mildred Lorene Stafford. Survivors include his wife: Elise Garrison Allen of Baxter, TN; 1 Son: Wade Eugene Allen, Jr. of Baxter, TN; 4 Daughters: Anna (Bobby) Huffine of Madison, TN, Elmie (Herb) Ruck of Lebanon, TN, Linda (Mike) Silcox of Jackson, TN, and Joyce (Nat) Douglas of Goodlettsville, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Dustin Huffine, Gregory (Shannon) Huffine, Tiffany (Gordy) Miller, Tatum Ruck, Ashley (Ryan) Leader, Brooke Silcox, Nathan Douglas, and Taylor Douglas; and 6 Great- Grandchildren: Willow Ruck Hay, Reese Miller, Connor Leader, Bradford Cantrell, Graham Huffine, and Reagan Miller. Special thanks to all his caregivers at Cookeville Regional Medical Center & Masters Health Care Center, especially Shelia Pippin. Bro. Johnny Fox and Bro. Paul Fox will officiate at the services. Sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
