Virgil L. Steward

Funeral services for Mr. Virgil L. Steward, 67, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, September 15, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Steward passed away on Monday, September 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1938, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late John Steward and Fannie Harris Steward. Mr. Steward was a brick and block mason. He served in the U.S. Army, and was affiliated with the McCoinsville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Buddy Steward and Joe Steward; and 2 Sisters: Beatrice Loftis and Christine Heady. Survivors include 2 Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Billy & Terri Steward of Limestone, TN, and Roger & Cheryl Steward of Bluff City, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Coty Steward, Ashley Steward, Cheyenne Steward, Haley Gentry, Billy Steward, Jr., and Kindra Steward; 2 Brothers: Johnny Steward of Detroit, MI, and Paul Steward of Baxter, TN; 2 Sisters: Margie Alred of Detroit, MI, and Louise Johnson of Gainesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
