Virgie Nell Guess

Funeral services for Virgie Nell Guess, 95, of Hermitage, TN, will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 11 A.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Guess Cemetery on Huff Hollow Road. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Lakeshore Heartland in Donelson, TN. She was born September 12, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Marlin Tayse and Mary Greenarch Tayse. On November 25, 1947, she was married to the late Dave Guess. She retired from working at the Granville Marina, then worked as a caregiver until age 85. She was a member of the Big Branch Church of Christ, and then the Liberty Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Sherry Guess Warden; 1 Step Daughter: Donia Mai Guess; 3 Step Sons: Rubin, James, and Charles Guess; 1 Brother: Bryan Tayse; and 2 Sisters: Flora Mae Hamlet and Alma Jo Morgan. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Sharon and her husband, Dwight Henderson of Hermitage, TN; 1 Son in Law: Ted Warden of Granville, TN; 3 Step Daughters: Lorain Guess, Helen Wade, and Juanita Grisham, all of Nashville, TN; 1 Grandson: David Warden; 1 Granddaughter: Robyn and her husband, Chad Mull; 2 Great Grandchildren: Colby and Charley Mull; several nieces and nephews; Close Family Friend: Minnie Clemons; 3 Step Granddaughters; 11 Step Great Grandchildren; and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. Bro. Tom Bilbrey will officiate at the services.
