Virdia Mae Spurlock

Funeral services for Mrs. Virdia Mae Spurlock, 89, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was born May 7, 1920, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Bedford and Lola Loftis Anderson. She was married to the late Ernest J. Spurlock. She was a homemaker, and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Grandson: Ernest Anthony Spurlock; 3 Brothers: Herman C. Anderson, Fred Anderson, and Elbert Anderson; and 1 Sister: Doyle Anderson. Survivors include 1 Son: Ernest Clay and Amanda Spurlock of Gainesboro, TN/Panama; 2 Grandchildren: Armando Pablo Spurlock and Amanda Cecile Sanchez, both of Panama City, Panama; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Gustavo and Javier, John, Thomas and Ana Isabel, and Acella; 2 Brothers: Carl Anderson and Clarence O. (Kathy ) Anderson, all of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Sisters: Bonnie (S.W.) Forkum of Cookeville, TN, and Dona Anderson of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bro.
