Violet Martin

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Martin, 76, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 noon until time of services. She passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at her residence in Baxter, TN. She was born April 4, 1935, in Jackson County, TN, to the late John William Allen and Dottie Carter Allen Chaffin. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sons: Sherrill Carter Martin, William K. "Kenny" Martin, and Karey D. Martin; 1 Granddaughter: Heather Renea Flatt; and 2 Brothers: Kenneth Allen and Billy Allen. Survivors include 4 Daughters and 3 Son-in-laws: Pam, and husband Donny Johnson and Gay, and husband Clay Crabtree, all of Baxter, TN; Margaret Martin Jones of Cookeville, TN; and Phyllis, and husband John Goad of Gainesboro, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Ashley Gamino, Heath Flatt, Josh Martin, Justin Martin, Cory Allen, Mychal Goad, Jonathan Goad, and Sydney Jones; 1 Great-Grandchild: Matthew Luke Martin; 3 Brothers: Bobby, and wife Wava Allen and Toy, and wife Linda Allen, all of Gainesboro, TN and Larsen, and his wife Velma Allen of Rickman, TN; 2 Sisters: Betty Flatt and Janice, and husband Don Mitchell, both of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
