Viola Hall Spivey

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Hall Spivey, 92, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, June 8, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery in the Big Bottom community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 P.M. and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mrs. Spivey passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Life Care Center of Sparta in Sparta, Tennessee. She was born July 18, 1912, in Jackson County to the late Simpson Hall and Ada McGlasson Hall. On June 13, 1928, she was married to the late Otha E. Spivey, who passed away on August 25, 2003. Mrs. Spivey was the co-owner and operator of Spivey's Radio & TV, later known as Gainesboro CATV, Inc. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Spivey was preceded in death by 1 Son: Otha E. Spivey, Jr.; 1 Grandson: William Loyd (Bill) Walker, Jr.; 1 Son-in-Law: Joe Messick; 6 Brothers: Landon Hall, Willie Hall, Carlos Hall, Bedford Hall, Guy Hall, and Rudolph Hall; and 4 Sisters: Martha Bailey, Leona Moss, Clio Rogers, and Edna Lovelady. Survivors include 1 Son: Dwight Spivey of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters and 1 Son-in-Law: Faye & Coy Ragland of Gainesboro, TN; Sue Messick of Murfreesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Linda Jackson, Michael Ragland, Jeff Spivey, Kimberly Stafford, and Jennifer Spivey; 9 Great- Grandchildren: Joey Wade, Dana Robinson, Scott Wade, Andrea and Alyssa Stafford, Dustin and Lacy Ragland, Kaylia Spivey, and Kelli Walker; 5 Great-Great Grandchildren: Daniel and Tiffany Robinson, Hope and Olivia Wade, and Peyton Barlow. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
