Vida Chaffin Anderson

Funeral services for Mrs. Vida E. Chaffin Anderson, 91, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rash Cemetery in the Antioch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born October 23, 1923, in Jackson County, TN, to the late James Whitman Chaffin and Sally Loma Gentry Chaffin. In December of 1940, she was married to the late Henry Clay Anderson, who passed away March 24, 1985. She was a retired employee at Heavy Duty Mfg., where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Raymond Anderson; 2 Sisters: Ila Mae Anderson and Willie Chaffin; and 1 Son-in-Law: Lewis Dennis. Survivors include 3 Sons: Kenneth (Audrey) Anderson of Gainesboro, TN, Jimmy (Linda) Anderson of Gainesboro, TN, and Garry (Carole) Anderson of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Linda K. Dennis of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter-in-Law: Betty Anderson of Jamestown, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Greg (Dalene) Anderson, Kim (Tim) Smith, Sandy (Stacy) Brewington, Eric (Debbie) Anderson, Brad (Jennifer) Anderson, Melanie (Mark) Gaw, Jason (Sonya) Anderson, and Amy (Alan) Judd; 20 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister: Anna Marie Loftis of Warren, MI. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Duane Gossett, Bro. Matthew Scoggins, and Bro. Edward Anderson will officiate at the services.
