Funeral services for Mrs. Velcie Ramsey Johnson, 96, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Monday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born December 1, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Jim Ramsey and Clara Henley Ramsey. On December 23, 1939, she was married to the late Haskel B. Johnson, who passed away September 21, 2009. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Burristown Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Evelyn Johnson; and 4 Sisters: Dois Chrisman, Jewel Lumpford, Lassie Oliver, and Agnes Wray. Survivors include 1 Daughter: JoAnn (Jerry) Young of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Jerri Ann (Jeff) Anderson of Gainesboro, TN, and Jamie (Molly) Young of Dickson, TN; 7 Great Grandchildren: Misty (Daniel) Wilson, Riley Anderson, Jaylen Anderson, Lance Anderson, Alainey Watson, Macy Meadows, and Nolan Young; 1 Great Great Grandchild: Ezekiel Wayne Wilson; 2 Brothers: Hollis Ramsey and James (Bernice) Ramsey, all of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Sisters: Nadene (Walden) Chrisman of Gainesboro, TN, Linda Williams of Lebanon, TN, and Sue (Jerry) Spivey of Rock Island, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Kenneth Anderson will officiate at the services.
