Funeral services for Mrs. Valmon Lambert Kirby, 81, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Fox Chaffin Cemetery in the Seven Knobs community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at her residence. She was born November 7, 1935, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Gustis Lambert and Lillian Lambert. On October 19, 1954, she was married to the late Bill Kirby, who passed away August 12, 2012. She was a garment factory worker, and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. She loved flowers, and loved to cook for family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Debbie Moss; 3 Brothers: Elbert Lambert, Bernice Lambert, and Jonas E. Lambert; and 1 Granddaughter: Nicole Lee Mabery. Survivors include 2 Sons: Lanny (Kay) Kirby of Gainesboro, TN, and Kenny Kirby of Cookeville, TN; 3 Daughters: Donna (Dewey) Mabery and Renee (Donnie) Martin, all of Gainesboro, TN, and Sherry (Keith) Thurman of Cookeville, TN; 8 Grandchildren: LaDonna Burris, Jamie (Holly) Moss, Jeremy (Vanessa) Moss, Heath (Krista) Kirby, Torrey Kirby, Nathan Mabery, Dylan Thurman, and Ethan Kirby; 3 Great Grandchildren: Andrew Moss, Lennon Moss, and Alivia Moss; 1 Sister: Audra Young; and 1 Brother: Billy Lambert of Gainesboro, TN.
