Funeral services for Mr. Tom Joe Bowman, 78, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, February 15, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born October 7, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Joe and Bessie Bowman. On November 21, 1953, he was married to Susan Bowman, who survives. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, and served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Betty Jane Rodgers. Survivors include his Wife: Susan Bowman of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Daughters and 3 Sons-in-Law: Jo Elizabeth (Lynn) Claborn of Byrdstown, TN, Katherine Sue (David) Haynie of Tuscaloosa, AL, Peggy Bowman of Huntsville, AL, and Sandy (Donnie) Ragland of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Randy, Matthew, Nicki, Samantha, Andrew, Alex, and Lincoln; 1 Great-Grandchild: Kaya; and 1 Brother: Claude (Betty) Bowman of Cookeville, TN.
