Thomas H. Meadows

Thomas H. Meadows was born on April 14, 1937, in Jackson County. Tennessee. He passed away on October 27, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was the son of Captain R. L. Meadows and Edna Shoulders Meadows. He was married for 63 years to Maxine Maxwell Meadows. They have 2 married sons, Jack (Kristi) Meadows and Jon (Donna) Meadows; 4 grandchildren, Cassie, Alex, Brock, and Drake; and 2 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ellie. He had six deceased siblings, with over 100 nieces and nephews.

Tom graduated from Gainesboro High School, where he was a 135 lb. All-Conference Quarterback in 1955. He attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a BA degree from Lipscomb University. He spent 40 years in the Insurance Industry and was Secretary of Kentucky Insurance Plans for 20 years. He was a member of Churches of Christ, served as a deacon, and worked with Youth Group. He was a member of YMCA Livestrong and Mended Hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and Churches of Christ Disaster Fund.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN.
