Thelma Meadows

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Meadows, 87, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at the Flynns Creek Church of Christ in Jackson County, TN. Burial will follow in the Meadows Cemetery in the Whites Bend community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M., and on Sunday at the church from 12:30 P.M. until time of services. She passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville, TN. She was born April 6, 1929, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Eston Spivey and Versie Spivey. On July 5, 1949, she was married to the late Richmond Meadows. She was a factory worker, and a member of the Flynns Creek Church of Christ. She loved sewing, gardening, and taking care of her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sons: Richie Meadows, Jerry Meadows, and Gayle Meadows; 1 Granddaughter: Samantha Meadows; 1 Sister: Alma Bauer; and 2 Brothers: Raymond Spivey and Ralph Spivey. Survivors include 1 Son: Larry Meadows of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Nancy West of Bloomington Springs, TN; 1 Brother: James Spivey of Gallatin, TN; 1 Sister: Allyson Forkum of Nashville, TN; 11 Grandchildren; and 12 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
