Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Jean Dennis, 85, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born November 5, 1931, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Oliver Leslie Netherton and Eliza Margaret Rush Netherton. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Johnny Frank Dennis; 1 Infant Son; 1 Sister: Mary Lou Denton; 1 Half Sister: Patricia Ann Donovan; 2 Brothers: Bob Willis Netherton and Willard Lee Netherton; 2 Half Brothers: Oliver Ray and Ermon Netherton; and 1 Step Brother: Clay Eades. Survivors include 2 Grandchildren: Traci Dennis and Jesse Dennis, both of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Great Grandchild: Noah Presley; 1 Half Brother: Bill Wayne Netherton of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Half Sisters: Lorene Lawson of Gainesboro, TN, Betty Sue Aberant of PA, Marie Martin of Baxter, TN, and Delia Martin of Detroit, MI; Special Niece: Brenda (Ronnie) Dill; and Special Nephew: Ronnie Denton and Susie Rueve.
