Teresa Ann Scott

Teresa Ann Scott, a resident of the Fairview community, was born Monday July 5, 1954 in Jackson County Tennessee, and she peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by loved ones on Saturday December 10, 2022 at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 5 days at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. .

Born the first child of the late George Hampton Scott and Virgie Marie ( Smith ) Scott, who survives, she first attended Fairview School. She then furthered her education, where she was a 1974 graduate of Jackson County High School as a homebound student. She was a member of the Harmony Church Of Christ, faithfully serving and worshiping the Lord from the time that she was a young lady, and throughout the remainder of her life.

Teresa was always a fighter, and not one to complain about what most would have given up on long ago. Rather, she chose to prove the doctor’s wrong, becoming an inspiration to all she came in contact with.

Growing up in the Fairview Community, with hobbies that included feeding and watching the Hummingbirds that she so loved, and growing and tending to flowers of all kinds, she made it a point to send out cards and letters to family, friends and neighbors for birthdays, holidays, or just to brighten someone's day. That, along with numerous dogs as pets over the years, her life was filled with what she saw as many blessings in spite of her inability to do the things that others did, but often took for granted.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by 1 Brother; Joe Dennis Scott, her Paternal Grandparents; Morgan And Mamie Scott, and Maternal Grandparents; Henry D And Bessie Smith.

2 Nephews; Garry & Michael Ellis, and 1 Niece: Katelyn Jones. Also numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Survivors are her Mother, Virgie Marie ( Smith ) Scott and 4 Brothers;

Harold Scott & Michael Christopherson of Lebanon Tennessee, and Tim & Melissa Scott of Gainesboro.

Nieces & Nephews; Matt & Marsha,Justin, Phillip & Lisa, Lyndsay, Carol “Toots” & Steven, Korra & Logan, Summer & Jordan, Jennifer & Mike, Blake, Gracie, Adam & Sutton, Cody, Kenzie, Millie - Cate, Lucas & Lacey, Raylen, Riley, Jackson, Olivia, Nathan & Oaklynn, Harlyn and Ryker.

Other survivors include 1 Uncle; Odell Scott, 3 Aunts; Dean Smith, Carolyn Burris, and Cathy & Charles Stafford. And numerous cousins.

Pen Pals : Jean Hall of Ohio and Katherine Hall of Cookeville, plus many friends by whom she will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to especially acknowledge Joan Hawkins Sisco for her years of friendship, and teaching skills that allowed Teresa the opportunity to graduate high school. And all the many unnamed others who cared for and loved her.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022,  4-8 pm, Monday 1-8 pm and Tuesday, 9 am to 12 noon with all visitation being at the funeral home.  Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. James Bybee and Bro. Kenneth Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
