Funeral services for Mrs. Tennie E. Roark, 94, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, September 27, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born November 5, 1915, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Andrew Jackson and Virginia June Jackson. She was married to Calvin C. Roark, who passed away on April 5, 1984. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Ray Roark; 1 Grandson: Michael Roark; and 4 Brothers and 5 Sisters. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Ann Vanhooser of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter-in-law: Peggy Roark of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: David Roark and wife Laura of Murfreesboro, TN; Stanley Vanhooser and wife Karen of Cookeville, TN; Steven Vanhooser of Madison, TN; 4 Great-Grandchildren: Andera and husband Zack Womack; Brian Justin Vanhooser, Michael Roark, and Jackson Vanhooser; and 2 Sisters: Gladys Whitaker of Cookeville, TN, and Edna Roberts of Gainesboro, TN. Bro. Robert Gribble and Rev. Steven Vanhooser will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Happy Haven Children's Home by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
