Funeral services for Mrs. Susan E. Bowman 88, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 8 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born May 9, 1929 in Gainesboro, TN, to the late George T. and Bessie Lee Jenkins. On November 21, 1953 she was married to the late Tom Joe Bowman, who passed away on February 12, 2010. She was a factory worker in the garment industry. She loved gardening and growing flowers and was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Lee, Robert, and Wayne Jenkins; 3 Sisters: Ruth Short, Stella Wims, and Rosa Nell Zuerlein and 1 Granddaughter: Elizabeth Nichole Chinoy. Survivors include 4 Daughters: Jodie Bowman of Gainesboro, TN; Kathy (David) Haynie of Tuscaloosa, AL; Peggy Bowman of Madison, AL; and Sandy (Donnie) Ragland of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Randy Beach, Matthew (Hannah) Cunningham, Suzie Bowman, Andrew Grisham, Alex (Teola) Ragland, and Lincoln (Alyssa) Ragland; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Kaya, Landon, Emma, Wyatt, Raelyn; 1 Brother: Royce (Linda) Jenkins of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Jo Helen Brown of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Brother-in-law: Claude (Betty) Bowman. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Gary Anderson will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Charles Ralph Holland Memorial Library or the donor's favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.
