Steven "Steve" Johnson

A celebration of life for Steven "Steve" Johnson, 44, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. The family asks that attendees wear their Dallas Cowboys colors to the service, if possible. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. Masonic services will be held on Friday at 8 P.M. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born December 16, 1974, in Eastland, TX, to Mary Ann Jasper and the late Clarence "Gene" Johnson. On July 22, 2000, he was married to Chevelle Johnson, who survives. He worked as an HVAC vocational school instructor, and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his Father: Clarence "Gene" Johnson. Survivors include his Wife: Chevelle Johnson of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Jeret Goad and Dallas Johnson, both of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Lindsey Goad of Gainesboro, TN; his Mother: Mary Ann (Clinton) Jasper of Gainesboro, TN; Step Brother: Gavin Jasper; and Step Sister: Tia Jasper. Several cousins and friends also survive. Bro. Randy Heady and Bro. Tom Bilbrey will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Steve Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund by contacting the funeral home.
