Funeral services for Mr. Steve E. Hunter, 60, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., Tuesday from 9 A.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Hunter passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born September 27, 1948, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Hershel and Jewell Stafford Hunter. He was a factory worker, and was affiliated with the Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Linda Stafford, Minnie Rush, Bonnie Stafford; and 4 Brothers: Charles, Bobby, Andrew, and James Hunter. Survivors include 1 Son: Billy Jack Kirk of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Cynthia Marie Pigg of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Billy Hershel Hunter of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Lucille Stafford of Livingston, TN; 2 Brothers-in-Law: Paul Stafford and Billy "Rastus" Stafford; 1 Sister-in-Law: Sammie Hunter; and 2 Special Nephews: Joey Hunter and Gene Stephens.
