Stella Pippin Birdwell

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella M. Pippin Birdwell, 76, of the Union Hill community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Friday, July 1, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Union Hill - Flatt Cemetery in the Union Hill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 - 9 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mrs. Birdwell passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Masters Health Care Center in Algood, Tennessee. She was born January 1, 1929, in Jackson County to the late Jasper L. Pippin and Sarah E. Edmonds Pippin. On May 20, 1972, she was married to the late James Odes Birdwell, who passed away on December 25, 2003. Mrs. Birdwell was a homemaker and a member of the Union Hill Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Otha, Boyd, Losier, and Hermon Pippin; 3 Sisters: Flora Dyer, Velma Birdwell, Bessie Pippin; and 1 Step Great-Granddaughter: Heather Robinson. Survivors include 6 Step-Sons and Daughters-in-Law: James & Kathy Birdwell of London, KY; Jasper & Arlene Birdwell, Fred & Pauline Birdwell, and Richard & Kathy Birdwell, all of Cookeville, TN; Donald & Marion Birdwell and Litton & Jo Helen Birdwell, all of the Union Hill community of Jackson County, TN; 2 Step-Daughters and 1 Step-Son-In-Law: Anna & Billy Joe Loftis and Bessie L. Robinson, all of the Union Hill community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Brother and Sister- in-Law: J. Fred & Evelyn Pippin of Baxter, TN; 2 Sisters and 1 Brother-in-Law: Lucille and Ralph Flatt of Cookeville, TN; and Bulah Birdwell of Bloomington Springs, TN; 24 Step- Grandchildren; 40 Step-Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Step- Great-Great-Grandchild.
