Sibbie Haney Smith

Sibbie Haney Smith was born on July 5, 1934 in Putnam County, TN and she passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN at the age of 86. She was the daughter of the late Melvin Ventson (Vent) Haney and Novan Wilmoth Haney. She was a retired dispatcher for Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative Corporation. She was a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her parents; husband: Ed Meadows Smith, who passed away Sept. 9, 1999; son: Billy Joe Smith; brothers: Dalvia Haney, John Haney, and Edsil Haney; sisters: Dessie Allen and Sharon Keylon; and daughter-in-law: Yvonne Smith. Survivors include son: Tommy Smith of Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren: Todd Smith, Lee Smith, Jessica Smith, Jared Smith, and Justin Smith; and great grandchildren: Lillie, Allie, Grayson, and Bailey. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 8, 2021, 11 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.
