Shirley L. Dyer

Shirley L. Crites Dyer was born July 26, 1939 in Cumberland, Maryland and she passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. She was the daughter of Richard Willis Crites, Sr. and Ethel Lorraine Moore Dowling. She was a factory worker. Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Brenda L. Dyer Nowak, brother, Richard E. Crites, Jr. sister, Vickie Ilene Dowling and grandchildren, Kelli Marleena Raines and Bobby Joe Raines. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Dyer (Benny) Woodard of Gainesboro; brothers, Herbert G. Dowling, Jr of PA; Michael Dowling of Texas and Tommy Crites of Chicago; sister, Mary Dowling Fitzhugh, Maryland; grandchildren, TJ Mowrey, Jr., Carmella Lorraine Nowak and Paishence Amaris Rush; great grandchild, Jamie Bren Pippin and her beloved cat, Sassy. Other relatives and friends also survive. Graveside services and internment will be on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2 pm in the Byers Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to ASPCA or to any no kill animal shelter.
