Shirley Carr Douglas

Shirley "Nannie" Carr Douglas age 74 of the Grant Community in Smith County, TN. passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN.

Shirley was born on April 28, 1949, in Silver Point, TN to the late Othel Carr and Levola Anderson Carr. On May 20, 1967, she married Randall (Randy) Douglas of Grant, TN. She was a retired factory worker and a cafeteria worker at Gordonsville High School. Shirley was a special person, especially to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It's hard to think of a childhood memory without her in it. She meant the world to her family. Shirley has left lasting memories not only with her family but with all the other kids she has loved and spent time with over the years.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters: Jean Mackie, Hilda Maxwell, Ann Neely, Margaret Thomas, Tincy Strahin, Becky Maynard; brothers: Jimmy, Jerry, Bobby, Marty and Mike Carr.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Randy Douglas of Grant, TN; daughters: Donna (Garry) Jones of Brush Creek, TN, Lori Douglas of Lebanon, TN; granddaughters: Brittany (Jordan) Lankford of Willette, TN, Brook (Christian) Jennings of Sarasota, FL, Brandy Massey of Gainesboro, TN; great-grandchildren Kyleigh Douglas, Remington, and Elli Jennings all of Sarasota, FL and Colynn, Lane, and Clay Lankford all of Willette, TN; sister, Jan Greene of Gordonsville, TN. She had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends that also survive.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday December 21, 2023, 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. at the Gordonsville Church of the Nazarene in Gordonsville, TN and again on Friday December 22, 2023, from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. with Pastor Shane Smith officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery located in the Brush Creek Community.
