Funeral services for Ms. Shirley Ann Emerton, 64, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 16, 1947, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Edgar A. Ballard and Tennie Mae Lackey Ballard. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Earl Stafford and Roger Dale Stafford; and 1 Sister: Judy C. Heady. Survivors include 2 Sons: Tim (Susan) Emerton of Whitleyville, TN, and Jason (Kelly) Emerton of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Kim (Mike) Lyon of Santee, CA; 2 Grandchildren: Zach Emerton and Peyton Emerton; 1 Sister: Pam (Danny) Hammons of the Tinsleys Bottom community of Jackson County, TN; and 1 Brother-in-Law: Cecil Heady of Gainesboro, TN.
