Sherman "Shag" Holland

Sherman Holland was born May 21, 1943, in Hazard, KY and he passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Overton County Health and Rehab in Livingston at the age of 81.

Mr. Holland was the son of Edward Holland and Polly Combs Holland. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was an automotive factory worker for the Chrysler Corporation. Sherman was a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. Sherman was an incredible story teller.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirlee Mullins Holland, brothers: Virgil Holland, Estill Holland, Cullen Holland, Edward Holland, Jr.; sisters: Myrtle Gregory, Nancy Holland, daughter Theresa Renee Carlile and granddaughter Tracy Renee Smith.

Survivors include his son: Shane Holland of Northfield, OH; daughters: Donna (Tony) Ragland of Gainesboro, TN, Cheryl Carlile; sister: Maxine Holland of Hazard, Ky grandchildren: Amanda Ragland, Dusty (Jessica) Ragland, Nicholas (Nicole) Bianchi II, Travis Ragland, Jacob Carlile; great grandchildren: Alexis Ragland, Logan Goolsby, Dylan Ragland, Riley Goolsby, Kaelynn Katelynn, Nicolas Bianchi III, Brantley; great great granddaughter: Sadie Morgan. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 3, 2025, 10 am to 1pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Matthew Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.
