Funeral services for Sandie K. "Peanut" Walker Scantland, 44, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery in the Flynns Lick community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Friday from 9 A.M until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born October 19, 1964, in Jackson County, TN, to Loyd Walker and the late Barbara Allen Scurlock. She was a factory worker, and was affiliated with the New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Bill Walker; her Maternal Grandparents: Carlos Allen and Hazel Thomas; and her Paternal Grandparents: Bill and Mai Walker. Survivors include her Parents: Loyd and Lois Walker of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Brothers: Loyd Robert Walker of Gainesboro, TN, and Danny (Stephanie) Strickland of Hartsville, TN; 3 Sisters: Teresia (Steve) Craighead of Whitleyville, TN, Angela (Terry) Brown of Gainesboro, TN, and Linda Jackson of Gainesboro, TN; Special Nephew: Dustin Allen; and Special Friends: Johnny and Reita Hamlet.
