Sam Poteet

Funeral services for Mr. Sam Poteet, 89, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Mabry Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesboro, TN. He was born March 11, 1926, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Everette Poteet and Mary Poteet. On May 29, 1981, he was married to Carol Poteet, who survives. He was a factory worker at Uniroyal Tire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Daughters: Jo Ann Poteet and Billie Carol Lewis; 3 Brothers: Robert, Mitchell, and Jr. Poteet; and 4 Sisters: Moline VanHooser, Molden Meadows, Elease Anderson, and Lois Birdwell. Survivors include his Wife: Carol Poteet of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Dennis Poteet of Florida; 2 Step Daughters: Connie (Glynn) Warden and Shelia (Jeff) Collins, all of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Kasey, Kayla, Caroline, Claudia, Rachel, and Randy; 1 Great Granddaughter: Kennedy Belle; 2 Sisters: Ethel (Jr.) Hackett of Franklin, TN, and Frances (Hollis) Walker of Cookeville, TN; and Special Friend: Richard Scantland. Other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Duane Gossett will officiate at the services.
