Sam L. Hall

Funeral services for Mr. Sam L. Hall, 88, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, September 6, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 9 P. M., Sunday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 1, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Arthur Hall and Nora Pharris Hall. On July 2, 1942, he was married to Merlene Hall, who survives. He was retired from Uniroyal Tire Co. in Michigan, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Kenneth Hall; 2 Brothers: Willard Hall and Arthur Hall, Jr.; and 3 Sisters: Betty Hall, Barbara Evans, and Dorothy Poteet. Survivors include his Wife: Merlene Hall of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Sammie (Peggy) Hall of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter-in- Law: Brenda Hall of Cookeville, TN; 1 Grandson: Jeff (Tressa) Hall of Cookeville, TN; 2 Granddaughters: Samantha (Stanley) Anderson of Cookeville, TN, and Kelly (Kenny) Anderson of Sparta, TN; 9 Great-Grandchildren: Jamie Hall, Lora Hall, Kristina Hall, Jared Anderson, Ann Marie Anderson, Sammy Anderson, Kendelyn Chilton, Kelsey Secord, and Kennedy Selby; 3 Brothers: Robert (Katherine) Hall, Carlos Ray (Alberta) Hall, and Billy C.
