Sadie Carter Flatt

Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Helen Carter Flatt, 92, of the Forks of the Creek community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 9, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Issac Flatt Cemetery on Flynns Creek Road in Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Tuesday from 12 noon until time of services. Mrs. Flatt passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006, at her residence in Jackson County. She was born February 12, 1914, in Jackson County to the late John Carter & Altie Kinnard Carter. On May 30, 1936, she was married to the late Odell C. Flatt, who passed away on June 10, 1986. Mrs. Flatt was a homemaker, and a member of the Forks of the Creek Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: John Richard Flatt and Roy Cooper Flatt; 3 Grandchildren: Wayne, James, and Sherrie Mackie; 5 Brothers: Nathan Carter, Wirt Carter, John Henry Carter, Scott Carter, and Ray Carter; and 3 Sisters: Mable Fuqua, Lillian Flatt, and Mittie Anderson. Survivors include 3 Sons: Hubert (Nina) Flatt of Gainesboro, TN, Larry (RaeJean) Flatt of Montevallo, AL, and Roger (Shirley) Flatt of Madison, Mississippi; and 6 Daughters: Elise (Wayne) Mackie of Greenbrier, TN, Anna Mae (Jimmie) Pittman of Lebanon, TN, Sue (Earl) Pond of Murfreesboro, TN, Linda Graves of Lebanon, TN, Alma (Thomas) Hooper of Goodlettsville, TN, and Teresa (Ronnie) Jordan of Mt. Juliet, TN. 19 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Bro. Hollis Chaffin and RaeJean Flatt will officiate at the services.
