Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Bain Wooten, age 88, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 - 8 P. M. at the funeral home, and on Thursday at the church from 12 Noon until time of services. Mrs. Wooten passed away on Monday, March 19, 2007, at NHC in Cookeville, TN. She was born February 6, 1919, in Baxter, TN, to the late James A. and Bonnie Nunally Bain. On June 27, 1937, she was married to the late Bill E. Wooten, Sr., who preceded her in death in December, 1976. She was a piano teacher, and served as pianist and organist at Gainesboro First United Methodist Church for more than 42 years. A talented musician, she used it all to the glory of God. Until the time of her death, she was the longest living member of Gainesboro First United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Pearl York, Nell Bain, and Elizabeth Feak; and 2 Brothers: James Nunally and Billy Joe Bain. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Mary Ann Wooten Huffines and husband Drue, of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Bill E. Wooten Jr. and wife Jane Ellen Pharris Wooten of Gallatin, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Lucretia Huffines (Gary) Maxwell of Cookeville, TN, Susan Wooten (Steve) Ford of Collierville, TN, and Catharine Brooke Wooten of Atlanta, GA; 4 Great - Grandchildren: Davis and Lee Maxwell, Matthew and Riley Ford; 1 Sister: Phyllis Hawkins of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Frank Bain of Baxter, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
