Rupert N. Billingsley

Funeral services for Mr. Rupert N. Billingsley, age 83, a resident of Gainesboro, TN, will be held Friday, June 13, 2008, at 1 P.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Friday from 10 A.M until the time of services. Mr. Billingsley passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1924, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Benton M. and Nancy Whitson Billingsley. On October 19, 1943, he was married to the late Dorothy Kirby Billingsley. They were married for 62 years. He was a pharmaceutical company representative and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ, where he had served as an elder and deacon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: James Billingsley; and 1 Sister: Jewell Whitaker. Survivors include 2 Sons: Jerry N. Billingsley of Seabrook, TX, and John Robert Billingsley of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Granddaughter: Krista Billingsley of Gainesboro, TN, currently of Pensacola, FL.
