Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Jean Hix, 86, of Westmoreland, Tennessee, and formerly of Whitleyville, Tennessee will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at the Whitleyville Church of Christ in Whitleyville, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper memorial cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 P.M. - 2 P. M., at the church. She passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center in Westmoreland, TN. She was born May 14, 1926 in Creston, North Carolina to the late Adolphus Osborne and Rosa Osborne Comer. She was married to the late Earl Edis Hix. She was a retired health care worker and a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Fred Osborne; 1 Sister: Marie Comer, and 1 Niece: Evelyn Roark. Survivors include 2 Sisters: Grace Roark of New Castle, Delaware and Maxine Houck of Lexington, North Carolina; 2 Sisters-in-law: Alma Jean Hix of Whitleyville, TN and Dorothy Painter Hix of Donelson, TN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of good friends. Rev. David Spears, chaplain at Westmoreland Care and Rehab Center, will officiate at the services.
