Ruby Ann Meadows

Funeral services for Ms. Ruby Ann Meadows, 96, of Gainesboro TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M., and on Thursday from 1 P.M. until time of services. She passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 19, 1916, to the late John Walker Meadows and Ida McCoin Meadows. She was the co-owner of Flowers by Ruby and Rose, and Ruby's Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Free State and later at Gainesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Joe Meadows; 2 Sisters: Pearl Meadows Clark and Rose Meadows Fuqua; and 1 Nephew: Eddie Fuqua. Survivors include 3 Nieces: Louise Meadows Binder of Monteagle, TN, Margaret Sue Jones of Atlanta, GA, and Faye Fuqua of Smithville, TN; 1 Nephew: John Marion Meadows of Kerrville, TX; 2 Great Nieces: Kimberley Bray Alverson and husband, Travis, of Lebanon, TN, and Patricia Harrison of Tulsa, OK; and 4 Great Nephews: Joe Eugene (Dana) Bray of Sparta, TN, Matthew (Tracey) Bray of Sparta, TN, Robert (Cynthia) Jones III of Atlanta, GA, and John Robert (Lisa) Meadows of Denver, CO; and Close Friends: Louise Dudney, Patsy Cassetty, Barbara Scott, Frances "Tootie" Anderson, Carol Poteet, and Cynthia Jaquith. Dr. Jann Cupp will officiate at the services. The family wishes to thank the ladies of the Gainesboro Church of Christ for providing dinner one day each week for Miss Ruby.
