Funeral services for Mrs. Rozell Johnson Brown, 98, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at NHC Healthcare Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born February 22, 1919, on Flynns Creek in Jackson County, TN, to the late Henry Raines "Pap" Johnson and Leitha Coomer Johnson. On June 14, 1946, she was married to the late Harvie L. Brown, who passed away January 17, 1988. She was a homemaker and farmer, and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Paul Brown; 2 Infant Daughters; 8 Brothers: Nathan, Virgil, Vestle, Sanford, Oakley, Laddie, Elvis, and Tom Johnson; 4 Sisters: Elvie Johnson, Ella Johnson, Frances Hamlett, and Lassie Johnson; 1 Daughter-in-Law: Mary Katherine Brown; and 1 Son-in-Law: Billy Dennis. Survivors include 1 Son: Jack Brown of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Linda Dennis (Alvin) Pryor of Gainesboro, TN, and Anna Jean (Jimmy) Ellis of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Steve Dennis, Tracy Ellis Terry, Paula Sue Brown, Janetta Dennis, and Joey Ellis; 6 Great Grandchildren: Summer Dennis, Austin Dennis, Tanna Terry, Kelsey Brown, Tisha Terry, and Remington Brown; Special Granddaughter: Lisa McCormick Strong; and Special Caregiver: Tina Maynard.
