Funeral services for Mr. Roy G. Gentry, 71, of Baxter, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Dodson Branch Cemetery in the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 noon - 9 P.M., and on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 17, 1943, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Johnnie William Gentry and Daisy Scott Gentry. On March 1, 1969, he was married to Evelyn Smith Gentry, who survives. He was a courier in the delivery business. He attended the Double Springs Community Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Edward Lee Gentry, Troy Eugene Gentry, and Billy Charles Gentry. Survivors include His Wife: Evelyn Gentry of Baxter, TN; 2 Sons: Jerry Gentry and Ben Gentry, both of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Melissa Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Victoria Holley, Blake Holley, Jeremiah Gentry, Daniel Gentry, Mary Beth (Matthew) Green, and Paige Gentry; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Amellia Trew and Brantley Benson; 1 Brother: William "Buddy" (Lula) Gentry of Jamestown, TN and 1 Sister: Margaret English of Antioch, TN.
