Funeral services for Roy Edward Philpot, 73, of the Dudney Hill community of Jackson County, TN, will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 12 Noon at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Monday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away Friday, August 28, 2020, at his residence. He was born October 23, 1946, in Granville, TN, to the late Robert Edward Philpot and Josie Meadows Philpot. He was married to the late Margaret Lee Trisdale Philpot, who passed away June 3, 2009. He worked as a USPS mail carrier. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Eldridge Philpot and Euloins Philpot; and 2 Sisters: Faye Reinhardt and Beulah Smith. Survivors include 1 Son: Ross (Ginger) Philpot of Nashville, TN; and 1 Grandchild: Harper Philpot of Nashville, TN. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Tommy Philpot will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Granville Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
