Roy D Head

Roy Head, resident of Columbia, TN, passed away on May1, 2020. He was the only son of the late Claude and Ethel Head . Roy was raised in the little community of North Springs, TN. His Father had a heart attack and passed away when Roy was 13 years old. He worked the farm for one year, and loved farming, but the job was too big for a young boy. Life took a different direction and he became a Trucker and, for a time, was married to Judy Cunningham. Together they had one daughter Jennifer, a physician, who is married to Will Broyles, and they reside in Florida. They presented Roy with a grand-daughter, Haley, whom Roy loved very much. Before entering Magnolia Health Care in Columbia Due to declining health, Roy lived on his own with his beloved cat Cosby. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and in his later years he had fellowship at the North View Church of Christ. Roy had a very special Christian friend, Mildred Holcomb. The family appreciates her many acts of kindness and the joy Mildred brought to Roy's life. Roy is survived by four sisters: Dimple Fitts of Hendersonville, TN; Phyllis Garland of White House, TN; Barbara(Tom) Duvall and Margie(Billy) Jones of Columbia, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 11:00 am with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Jimmy Anderson will officiate.
