Roy C. Gentry

Funeral services for Mr. Roy C. Gentry, 94, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and again on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, at his residence. He was born December 27, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Winters L. Gentry and A.V. Gentry. On April 11, 1948, he was married to Frances M. Gentry, who survives. He was a farmer, and a member of the Morrison Creek Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Philip Gentry; Great Grandchild: Claire Marie Wheeler; and 1 Brother: James Hollis Gentry. Survivors include his Wife: Frances M. Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Larry (Teresia) Gentry of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Teresa (Herby) Wheeler of Cookeville, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Melissa Walker, Angela (Matt) Suggs, Jonathan (Jennifer) Wheeler, and Matthew (Samantha) Gentry; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; 1 Brother: Edward Gentry of Toledo, OH; and 1 Sister: Mildred Smith of Nashville, TN.
