Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Nell Jones Strait, 89, of Mt. Juliet, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., and on Monday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at her residence. She was born November 9, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Roscoe Smallwood and Zander Smallwood. She was married to the late I.B. Jones and Harrison Strait. She was a clothing factory worker, and a Christian who loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Roscoe and Zander Smallwood; her Husbands: I.B. Jones, and after his death, Harrison Strait; 2 Sisters: Louise Jones and Martha Bell Dixon (her twin); 2 Brothers: Paul Meadows and Roscoe "Bug" Smallwood, Jr.; and 1 Great Grandson: Cason Gaines. Survivors include 1 Son: Billy (Margie) Jones of Spring Hill, TN; 2 Daughters: Deborah (Jimmy) Gaines of Lebanon, TN, and Sherry (Glenn) Oaks of Cookeville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Kevin Gaines, Heather Jones, Jamie Oaks, Christy Phillips, Keith Gaines, and David Oaks; 11 Great Grandchildren: Kayla Malone, Brooke Malone, Connor Gaines, Colton Gaines, Madison Phillips, Megan Phillips, Kaylor Gaines, Kolby Gaines, Tyler Oaks, Harper Oaks, and Knox Oaks; 1 Brother: Tommy Smallwood of Old Hickory, TN; 1 Sister: Bonnie Jean Head of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Step Daughters: Susie Justice and Cheryl Lindsey; and Special Friends: Tom and Tosha Lincoln.
