Graveside interment for Mr. Roger Lee Petty, 85, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 4 P.M. on Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the Fairview Cemetery in the Fairview community of Jackson County, TN. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. He passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born June 26, 1929, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Jim Petty and Susie Hamlet Devine. He was married to Lary Scott Petty, who survives. He was an electrician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: George Brown and Webb Petty. Survivors include his Wife: Lary Scott Petty of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Sons: Walter Petty of Hilham, TN; Jimmy Petty, Roger "Sach" Petty, and Ronnie Petty, all of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Sister: Christine Denton of Speed, NC.
