Funeral services for Mr. Robert T. Smith, 79, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, August 6, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Smith passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 30, 1928, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Henry Dee Smith and Bessie Smith. On September 19, 1947, he was married to the late Doris Shepherd Smith, who passed away April 17, 1997. He was a retired employee of Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative,and was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Harvey, Lonnie and Eldon Smith; and 1 Sister: Janie Lou Smith. Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-law: Bobby and Sharon Smith of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Patsy and Billy Scott of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Greg Scott, Rebecca (Brandon) Howell, and Jessica (Chris) Lynn; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Caleb and Raegan Howell and Jaxon Robert Lynn; and 1 Sister and Brother-in-law: Virgie Marie and Hamp Scott of Gainesboro, TN.
