Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. West, 83, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 Noon - 9 P.M., and on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1933, in Jackson County, TN, to the late James West and Gladys Hawkins West. On May 4, 1954, he was married to Juanita Coffee West, his wife of over 61 years. He was a bus driver, farmer, and was retired from Bonnell. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed his cows and farming, being around his family, and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Jim Ed West; 1 Grandson: Robert Dale West; 1 Brother: Jo Edward West; and 4 Sisters: Bobbie Sue Denton, Peggy Knofski, Mary Kidd, and Kathleen Flatt. Survivors include his Wife: Juanita Coffee West of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Willie (Sandy) West of Red Boiling Springs, TN, and Lee (Sharon) West of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters: Elaine (Terry) Tate, Diane West Meadows Ashburn, and Debby (William "Buck") Anderson, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Doug West of Ohio; 9 Grandchildren: Robert Meadows, Michelle Cook, Nikki Tate, Adam Tate, Beth Shoulders, Brent West, Jhamie West, Wayne West, and Sandra Smith; and 11 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. O'Neal Huffines will officiate at the services. Pallbearers: Adam Tate, Brent West, Robert Meadows, Buck Anderson, Steven Cook, and Bruce Flatt; Honorary Pallbearers: Terry Tate and all veterans.
