Robert D. Dudney

Funeral services for Mr. Robert D. Dudney, 74, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Dudney Family Cemetery in the Free State community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. He was born September 11, 1945, in Detroit, MI, to the late Edd Dudney, Sr. and Vera Elizabeth Clark Dudney Davis. On August 18, 1972, he was married to Carolyn Carter Dudney, who survives. He was retired, formerly serving as the general manager of Twin Lakes Telephone. He was a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Nancy June Dudney; Father in Law: Alton Carter; 2 Half Brothers: Donald Dudney and Edd Dudney, Jr.; and nieces and nephews. Survivors include his Wife: Carolyn Carter Dudney of Cookeville, TN; Mother in Law: Mildred Haile Carter of Cookeville, TN; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. The family would like to extend thanks to all the people at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Alive Hospice who so compassionately took care of Robert. Bro. Mike Brown and Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate at the services.
