Robert "Bobby" Elkins

Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Bobby" Elkins, 87, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1931, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Bill Elkins and Lena Elkins. He was married to the late Mildred Lee Smallwood Elkins. He did janitorial work, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Charles Elkins and Billy Elkins; and 3 Sisters: Christine Cunningham, Elizabeth Young, and Jean Brown. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Shirley Wade (Jackie) Mathis of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Shanna Mathis (John) Anderson, Jeremy Mathis, and Joshua Mathis, all of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Great Grandchildren: Titus (Brettianee) Anderson, Elijah Anderson, Norah (Jon) Ledbetter, and Levi Anderson; 1 Great Great Grandson: Silas Walker Anderson; Brother-in-Law: Morris R. (Darlene) Smallwood; and Niece and Nephew: Connie Young of Nashville, TN, and Ben (Donna) Young of Gainesboro, TN, and other nephews and niece in Michigan. Bro.
